Telomerase Activation

Telomerase is an enzyme essential to human DNA which can slow down, stop and even reverse the telomere shortening process which appears as we get older.

“Without the protection from telomeres, our cells age and die.”

As we age the amount of telomerase in our bodies and DNA tends to decline, showing evident signs of ageing both physically and mentally in the human body.

In 2009, the Nobel Prize for Physiology Medicine was awarded to three scientists who discovered how telomerase impacts telomere length in human DNA.

“Telomeres are the caps at the end of each strand of DNA that protect our chromosomes, like the plastic tips at the end of shoelaces.”

Their work examined and explained how the ends of DNA strands are protected by telomeres, and how telomeres are built by telomerase. What they discovered was ground breaking!

They determined that activating telomerase in the DNA addresses telomere shortening and cell raging – helping prevent and slow down the process of ageing. Telomeres help cells live stronger, and longer by continuing to function properly. They alllow old cells to function as they did when they were younger (by changing gene expression to a younger phenotype).

Therefore, by exposing human cells to telomerase we are able to slow the process of cell aging and allow cells to reproduction and begin copying new cells again.
